Data Deletion
How to delete the data My Internet Piece holds about you, including anything obtained from a connected social account or design tool.
EFFECTIVE 18 SEPTEMBER 2026
Disconnect a social account (immediate)
If you connected a social account (such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, or TikTok), go to Settings → Social integrations and choose Disconnect next to that account. This immediately deletes the stored connection and the encrypted access token, and removes that account and its follower count from your piece. You can also revoke our access from the platform’s own security or apps settings.
Disconnect a design tool (immediate)
If you connected a design tool (currently Canva), go to Settings → Design integrations and choose Disconnect next to it. This immediately revokes our access with that provider and deletes the stored connection and the encrypted access token. There are no designs of yours for us to delete — we read them only while you are choosing one, and never store them. An image you already imported stays on your piece, because it is now your piece image; you can change or remove it from your piece settings at any time.
Come off a mailing list (immediate)
If you subscribed through the email signup field on someone’s link page, use the unsubscribe link in the confirmation email we sent you. That removes you straight away, and we also ask the owner’s own email tool to suppress your address. We keep a record that you unsubscribed so the same address is not added again by mistake — to have that record erased too, email us as below. An address that was never confirmed is deleted automatically after 30 days. Anything you receive from the list after that comes from the owner rather than us, and carries their own unsubscribe link.
Delete your account and pieces
To delete your account and the personal information associated with it, email hello@myinternetpiece.com from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my data”. We will delete your account, disconnect and delete any connected social accounts and design tools along with their tokens, and remove your pieces from the wall. Some records may be retained where the law requires (for example, transaction records for tax and accounting), and are deleted once those obligations end.
Data obtained through Facebook
If you connected via Facebook, the only information we obtain is your basic public profile and the follower count of a Page you manage, used solely to display that account on your piece. Disconnecting the account, or emailing us as above, deletes all of it. We do not access your posts, messages, or friends, and we do not post on your behalf.
Data obtained through Canva
If you connected Canva, the only information we obtain is your Canva display name, shown so you can tell which account is connected, and read-only access to list your designs and export the one you pick. We store neither the designs nor their titles or thumbnails. Disconnecting the account, or emailing us as above, revokes our access and deletes all of it. We hold no permission to create, edit, or delete anything in your Canva account, and we never write to it.
What happens next
We confirm deletion by email once it is complete, normally within 30 days and usually much sooner. If you have any trouble, contact us via the contact page. For more on what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.
